Twas the 2024 season

Another whirlwind year at the Club.

As many of us “hung up the boots” from work, school and summer sports and have had some well deserved downtime, it’s worth reflecting on another great year across Gordon Football Club.

In 2024 we

  • Had over 415 players including 107 girls and women

  • Brought together 30 teams including our first ever women’s over 45 team

  • Played over 500 games

  • Pitched for and received multiple grants to support the club

  • Kept our kids busy indoors and worked with NSFA to reschedule games with 8 rainy weekends in the season

  • Held another great program of events including our bigger than ever meet the team day, and our very popular Swifties event

  • Held a fantastic women’s football week (even if the first one was a washout)

  • Our Men’s O45 and U14A, U13 and U12A ended the season as premiers - with the men’s over 45s taking home the winning trophy for the first time in over a decade.

  • We merged with the Corpus Christi Hawks

  • And partnered with North Turramurra football club for a new development program partnership- Ku-ring-gai Phoenix - which will kick off the year with 7 dev teams

A huge thanks to our sponsors - including The Greengate, Marshall Group, Forestway Fresh, North Shore Orthodontics and Pattisons Patisserie.

All of this would not be possible without our amazing volunteer coaches, managers and committee members - thank you for your support this year.

As we look forward, 2025 is going to be exciting year for GFC. With the Corpus Christi merger we can now offer MO35's, WO30's in addition to our WO/ MO45's and expect the club numbers to grow to circa 550 players. We would ask all of our amazing club members to welcome our new members to the GFC family.

We continue to work with our national and local politicians and councillors to drive funding support to upgrade Saiala and seek partnerships to secure a home for GFC with an all-weather pitch. Discussions have been constructive with a commitment from the Coalition Party to fund upgrades and investment should they be successful in returning to office. We will share more as it develops but this could be very meaningful for GFC.

Registration for the 2025 season can be found here. Please spread the word as we continue to push towards a sustainable club size.

We look forward to seeing you on the field in 2025.

Thanks
Aiden and the GFC committee
