Goalie training a keeper!
GFC’s very own experienced Goalkeeper and MAA player, Tim Fuller, kindly ran two back to back Goalkeeper training sessions in July 2023. Attendance was high and Tim managed to keep the keen keepers engaged and having fun. They learnt about looking after goalie gloves, how to dive safety, how to get up efficiently and of course, the best ways to stop/catch the ball.
Thanks to Ian and Aiden who co-coached and learnt a bit themselves too!
Football NSW provided giveaways in the form of balls, posters, clappers and flags - all in keeping with the Women’s World Cup held at the same time in Australia and New Zealand.
Thank you for your time and effort Tim - there was much positive feedback from the players.
In 2024, these (free) sessions will be run pre and mid-season so keep an eye out.
